With a preface. Both pieces uses the same musical material. Thick Music presents the material vertically, while Thin Music presents it horizontally. The ensemble, which is split into four groups, consists of alto sax, three violins, viola, contrabass, horn, trumpet, tuba, two percussion, cello, flute, clarinet, harp, piano, oboe, bassoon, trombone, and keyboard. Total duration ca. 34 minutes.
