In one movement. With program notes. Premiered in New York, February 2009 by Alexandra Sopp, Carol McGonnell, Brooke Quiggens, Maria Jeffers, and Steve Beck. The music was inspired in part by the African-American strutting tradition in the American South. Flute doubles on piccolo; clarinet doubles on bass clarinet.
