In 1982, Dvorak was asked to compose a cantata for the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America by Columbus by the National Conservatory of New York. He chose the Te Deum text, but this was rejected later by the school. This is a reprint of the Bote & Bock edition of 1896. With a new introduction.
