Nils Rohwer, born in 1965, started his musical journey at the age of thirteen with drum and piano lessons. After completing his performance diploma in percussion at the Academy of Music in Detmold, Germany, he shifted his focus to mallets, drum kit and composing. His first compositions for percussion were written in 1985. He has composed a great number pieces for drum set, mallets, piano or ensemble, with many suitable for students.

 In 1993, he founded his own percussion school, “Drums Unlimited”. For over 30 years, he has been the “vibes” in the renowned duo “Piano meets Vibes”. Together with the “Piano”, Jens Schliecker, he has created countless compositions for percussion, chamber ensemble, orchestra and film. Their musical piece “Morning clouds” won the 1st price of the Classical Marimba League’s “composition” competition in 2009. In 2012, Rohwer established the “NIRO Music-Edition” publishing company, distributing his and other composers’ works all over the world.
