Scored for flute, clarinet, bassoon, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and guitar. This work directly quotes Schoenberg's 12 tone row from Serenade, Op. 24. Included below the notes of the 12 tone row are the words to a German translation of a sonnet by Petrarch, which may be ignored or cited in a free manner depending on the wish of the performers.
