Daybreak : For String Orchestra.

Daybreak depicts the first light of dawn slowly transforming into day, perhaps at the Grand Canyon or a similarly vast landscape, with an arc of increasingly dramatic tension spun through long string lines that are intended to give an effect both lush and powerful. In addition, there are strong mood and textural contrasts, with moments of hushed stasis juxtaposed against rich divisi harmonies across the entire string orchestra. My intent with Daybreak was to create a profound multi-sensory experience. T. Mason.
