Commissioned by the National Society of Arts and Letters, the work was origi- nally conceived as a song cycle - the middle song of a 7-song cycle entitled Artsongs. Adapted by the composer for the cello at the request of the NSAL for the competition held in 1992. Printed from manuscript.
