With a preface in English and German. This work was composed in Wales when Mendelssohn was twenty, for his parents' silver wedding anniversary. The libretto was written by Karl Klingemann. Mendelssohn considered this to be a private work, and it was not published until after his death. This is a reprint of an edition published by Breitkopf & Härtel.
