Contents: Part I. Cadenza with Accompaniment -- Part II. With a preface in German, English and French. Performance notes. Commissioned by the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra and the NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo. Premiered in Lucerne, September 2007 by violinist Akiko Suwanai and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. Each of the seven astronauts is given a cadenza in the Part I. Besides the soloists, six other violins are called for, to be placed around the hall. Their parts appear in this piano reduction as well. Duration ca. 21 minutes.
