This volume contains four of twelve movements which comprise Sciarrino's Carnaval. With program and performance notes in Italian. Commissioned by the Lucerne Festival for Maurizio Pollini. Premiered in Lucerne, August 2012, by Maurizio Pollini, Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, and Klangforum Wien. The ensemble includes two flutes, two bass clarinets, two trombones, two percussion, and two cellos. The texts for these movements are by Towitara Boyoyu, as revised by the composer.
