A sonata in four movements: I. Andante -- II. Allegro -- III. Adagio -- IV. Senza tempo (tempo libero ma inquieto). With a preface, editorial notes, legend, and critical comments in Russian and English. Facsimile plates. Schnittke dedicated this work to violinist Mark Lubotsky, who premiered the music with Irina Schnittke in 1994. The music is influenced by the music and thought of Josef Hauer (1883-1959). This volume is based on the autograph and the first edition.
